John Zada is a freelance photographer and writer based in Toronto.
His interests include adventure travel, remote locales, the intersection
between culture and politics, and the Middle East. His photos and
writing have appeared in the Globe and Mail, CBC News.ca, Outpost,
Toronto Star, Al-Jazeera English, Canvas and The National.
Before turning his focus to photography and writing, he spent
several years working as a documentary filmmaker in the Middle East.
He’s produced and directed such projects as Up At Dawn: The Working
Children of Egypt, and The Bitterest Exile - a profile of South Lebanon
Army exiles living in northern Israel.
John is also a writer at CBC News Network. He divides his time
between Canada and the Middle East.
